 Our Vision:

OUR VISION IS TO FULFILL GOD'S MISSION!

God’s mission for Harvest is encapsulated in our simple mission statement which says: “Make Disciples who Love God and Live for HIS Purpose”

It is our hope that every member of Harvest will become passionate about helping us fulfill God’s mission. A clear mission in life helps us define both corporate and personal vision. If we know what we are aiming for then our day to day decisions become easier and our priorities are already set. Once the destination is decided then all that’s left to decide is how to get there.

At Harvest we will fulfill God’s Mission by doing the following:

MAKING DISCIPLES
As we seek to fulfill God’s mission our vision will be to make disciples in our Jerusalem, Judea, and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8)

Ideally we gather disciples through evangelism; that is we look for those who are seeking an encounter with Christ and we help them make that connection. A disciple is basically a “follower of Jesus”. In our culture people follow many different things; like a career path, a financial trail, or a pursuit of material wealth or personal pleasure. Most things that average people follow are not bad or evil but they can very easily become distractions away from the things that really matter. Unfortunately people usually follow things and in the process miss the key opportunities in life to connect with the people around us who really matter the most. May people have lost relationships with those closest to them because they were to busy following the wrong trail.

At Harvest our Vision is to teach people how to follow Jesus because we believe that the bible actually gives us a great reason as to why this is important. “Seek first the Kingdom of God and all it’s righteousness and all these other things will be added onto you”.

worship
As we seek to fulfill God’s mission our vision will be to worship God in spirit and truth. (John 4:23-24)

At Harvest we love to extravagantly and passionately express our love to Jesus. As we lift up His name we are proclaiming that our God is worthy of our highest praise and our undivided attention. When we get saved through an amazing work of God’s Grace in our lives, our hearts are turned from serving and worshiping idols to serving and worshiping the only true and living God!

Every person is wired to worship something and the question is not, "Are you a worshiper?" The question is, "Whom or what do you worship?" The bible teaches us that God inhabits the praises of His people. As a church community it is our desire that every time we gather together, we sense and experience God's presence. We want to connect intimately with Him and hear His voice so that more of His character and nature is deposited in us!

We will help build a worshipping community by allowing the Holy Spirit to be the chief worship leader in all of our services. We will invite Him to release the gifts that edify and build up the body of Christ. In practical ways we will strengthen our corporate worship gatherings through writing and composing worship songs, by producing worship CD's, by encouraging the creative arts like drama, dance, painting, flagging, poetry, and through productions that strengthen the body of Christ and present the gospel.

Of course, like all that we do at Harvest, we are committed to teaching and preaching God's Word, the Bible, as the final authority. Obedience to the Word of God is actually our highest level of worship! It is our desire to present relevant truths so that our people will walk humbly before God and live their lives with strong moral character that reflects the life of Christ that comes from a lifestyle of worship

training&equipping
As we seek to fulfill God’s mission our vision will be to equip, train, and release believers to the work of the ministry. (Ephesians 4:7-12)

It is our understanding from God’s Word that God has uniquely gifted people and has wired them for His specific purpose. We believe that the Holy Spirit empowers people with a passion for a ministry that glorifies God and edifies people. At Harvest our desire is not only to help people discover that ministry, but to equip, train, and release them to do that ministry.

We will accomplish this by providing classes and leadership tracks to train, equip, and provide opportunities for you to minister. We believe that Jesus gave the gifts of the fivefold ministry to equip every believer for ministry.

grace&truth
As we seek to fulfill God’s mission our vision will be to preach the Good News of the Gospel in the same manner that Jesus preached His message. The Bible states in John 1:14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.(NIV).

The message of Grace AND Truth are much needed in today’s world. In our experience, truth preached without grace produces environments of legalism and control which creates fear based religion. God’s grace draws people into a relationship that reveals His great love for His children. Once people know that they are secure in their relationship with their heavenly Father then they embrace His truth into their lives because they know it will truly set them free from all kinds of past hurts and wounds and help them grow and mature in their spiritual walk with Jesus.

Our desire at Harvest is to be known as a community that is an extension of the mercy and grace which Christ purchased for all of us through His life, death and resurrection from the dead. (Ephesians 2:8-10; Proverbs 14:31)

We desire to show God's kindness and compassion to every person that God brings across our path. We believe the world is sick of religion and is in desperate need of the message of grace. Grace is one of the foundation stones of Harvest Church

Practically it is our desire to extend care for the people that God brings into our fellowship by looking after our church family pastorally, prayerfully and practically when needed.

families&marriages
As we seek to fulfill God’s mission our vision will be to strengthen families and marriages. (Malachi 2:14-16)

It is our belief that when people launch out on the adventure of marriage that they all want basically the same thing. They want to experience love, joy and accomplish great things together. At Harvest we are committed to helping people discover all that God has for them in their marriage. God wants to build strong marriages and provide for a healthy family life. The Bible contains many principles and truths that can help any marriage become what God intended it to be.

Today it is obvious that marriages and families are facing great opposition. Moral values are falling all around us, the institute and role of marriage has been devalued, and it is clear that both marriage and family are one of the enemy's greatest areas of attack. Thus, marriage and family ministry is one of our strongest areas of emphasis. We are committed to provide biblical teaching that will strengthen families and marriages in order to protect them from Satan's schemes.

In a society that has seen millions of people affected by the pain of of divorce, It is our desire to be used of God to minister healing to those who have experienced divorce. The message of God’s grace and truth is a message of hope to all of those who have been devastated by divorce.

At Harvest it is our desire to strengthen and equip our young adults, our youth and our children because while it’s true that they are our future they still must learn to stand firm against the tide of negative influences that pummel them everyday from every direction. In our desire to impact these generations we have made Harvest to be a place of fun where we learn to laugh in the face of our difficulties so that in the process we might learn the principles that will help us be successful on the life journey. We are committed to reaching, teaching, and impacting children of all ages so that they might discover their own God given purpose and fulfill their destiny in Christ.
